Compare Mealworm Feeders

A lot of customers wonder how many mealworms to buy if they want to fill up their feeders. While we don't have exhaustive data by any means, we can share the capacity of two feeders we use in our own yard. If you have info to share about your feeder, please drop us a note on the Contact Us page.

Erva Hanging Glass Cup Feeder

When filled to almost overflowing, the glass cup can hold about 1k live medium-sized (100mg) mealworms.

The feeder could also hold about 25 grams (or just under 1 ounce) of dried mealworms.

100 Live Mealworms

10g or about 100 medium live worms sit in a little clump at the bottom of this feeder. Even with just a handful of mealworms, the smaller birds have no issues getting in for a tasty treat.

25g Dried Mealworms

The ceramic feeder has just about the same capacity as the glass cup from Erva, 25g or about 1 ounce.
