Health of mealworms fed on polystyrene and chicken feed

Washington State University Insider reported on Brenden Campbell's undergraduate research on the potential of mealworms as both a super-decomposer of polystyrene (aka Styrofoam) and as a potential food source. He found that mealworms (Tenebrio molitor) fed a diet that included both polystyrene and chicken feed had a similar, healthy nutrient profile to those fed on just chicken feed!
