Waste-Free

Goals for the Future:

Our goal is to explore alternative sources of food waste to supplement or even replace wheat bran. For instance, we can use spent grains, local food processing waste, and other similar sources.

What we do:

We purchase wheat bran, which is a byproduct, and then reuse the bags to store frass. Once the bags are no longer useful, we recycle them. We ensure that all our packaging is either compostable or recyclable, and all the boxes are made from 100% recycled paper. We maintain our colony of EPS-eating worms as a continuous learning process, and we aim to collaborate with researchers worldwide.

Results:

We have succeeded in producing only one bag of landfill trash so far. We are fortunate to have a place to recycle EPS, which is turned into bricks by the Saint Vincent DePaul team.
